They’d picked a polyester cloth and regardless of what they did with this fabric, it would never hang. Not only that, she had chosen to go with a brief panels onto a two story window to save cash, which looked very strange in the space
Did a very poor job of directing her to making the choice that is proper, and they basically just wanted to sell the job, so the client something which was perhaps in her budget range instead of offering expert guidance was offered by them. There are a lot of factors and also the attractiveness of the cloth is not the essential element.
There are software obviously – if you’re installing draperies at a formal living room, you might want something very structured, or in a casual sitting room, something a little more free flowing and gauzy. It takes understanding and an expert eye of cloth properties to assist you make the right selection . I’m a believer, and most of my clients appreciate this, that if an item might push you over funding a bit, it’s very good to at least explore it. I know I would rather know all of my choices so that I can make an educated decision.
The bottom line is that the fabric type is extremely important to the way in which the drapery will appear, and of course cloth choice affects the cost. Fabric is the piece of the price breakdown for custom draperies. There’s also the style selected, labor hardware and setup.
The workroom must have directed the customer to possibly a polyester/cotton mix or a polyester/linen blend. The natural material of linen and the cotton will help the manmade synthetic polyester fibers hang better
A good excellent drapery fabric can go up from there and begins at around $50 per yard retail.
