Spring Living Room Refresh Tips

Since spring has finally arrived, I’ve been dying to make a few adjustments to the decor in our living area. Naturally, our living room is the coziest room in the house, making it perfect for lounging around, reading, and watching television. I gave a few things in the living room a spring cleaning in preparation for the new season, and I thought it could be helpful to share some recommendations with you.

TRANSFER TO DIFFERENT TEXTILES
Swapping out the cushions in your living room is an easy method to bring about a noticeable shift in the decor and atmosphere of the space. It is not necessary to always purchase new pillows because they can take up room in your home. Simply place an order for fresh pillow coverings and rotate them out according to the different seasons. I put away the lighter-colored pillow coverings that I use throughout the fall and replaced them with some white, blue, and pink pillows that I already had on hand.

My husband and I have a family room, and I prefer to decorate it in a way that makes it feel warm and inviting. Because I am prone to being cold, we always have a good supply of pillows and blankets on hand. Layers of depth and warmth can be added by using textiles. The presence of carpet and rugs on the floor is one of the primary ways that we maintain the sensation that it is warm and inviting. After a hard day at the office, my husband’s favorite thing to do is unwind by sinking his tired feet into the carpet. I know. What a weirdo. ?

In spite of what you would believe, carpet really serves as a repository for allergens. Your vacuum will have no trouble picking up the dust that settles on it when you use it. It is very vital for us to improve the air quality in our home, particularly given the fact that we have three children and that all of us suffer from seasonal allergies. Carpeting can really contribute to better environments, which can be beneficial for persons who suffer from asthma and allergies.

In their most recent version, asthma and allergy guidelines published by the National Institutes of Health’s National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute do not include any advice about the removal of carpets as a treatment option for asthma and allergies.

Do you agree that the new pillows make the room look brighter and are the epitome of what spring should be like? As you can see, I’ve even layered a gorgeous blanket over the back of the couch to add a little bit more color. You could do the same thing.

Putting a rug on top of something creates an additional layer of comfort. Rugs not only help to create an intimate space but also serve to anchor your furniture. Our neutral carpeting can be used during all four seasons. The combination of a carpet and a rug helps to reduce noise and gives a comfortable amount of padding underfoot.

IMPROVE THE APPEARANCE OF YOUR MANTLE AND COFFEE TABLE
Changing the embellishments on your mantel is an excellent way to bring some Spring touches to your home. I did this by incorporating artwork, vintage frames, and some artificial vegetation into the space.

ADD LOTS OF FRESH GREENERY
There is no substitute for beautifying your space with actual plants. Our home is filled with real plants, and the pleasure of tending to them is felt throughout the entire house. Try growing a pothos or a snake plant even if you don’t have much of a green thumb. They require little care and are surprisingly difficult to eradicate from your garden.

Plants improve the quality of the air we breathe, not to mention that they bring color and liveliness to any room. Without these, I simply cannot decorate!
